Integrated Cloud Email Security

Integrated Cloud Email Security (ICES) is a cloud-based email security solution that supplements the native security capabilities of a cloud email provider like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Unlike traditional Secure Email Gateways (SEGs) that require routing email through a separate system, ICES solutions integrate directly with cloud email environments via API, working alongside the provider's built-in security rather than replacing it.

ICES solutions use a variety of advanced detection techniques to identify sophisticated threats that evade built-in cloud provider security:

AI and Machine Learning: Behavioral analysis models learn normal communication patterns for users and flag anomalies that may indicate attacks.

Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and Natural Language Processing (NLP): Analyze the language, tone, and context of email content to detect social engineering, unusual requests, and manipulation tactics.

Social Graph Analysis: Maps patterns of email communication between individuals to identify unusual or unexpected communication that may indicate impersonation or account compromise.

Image Recognition: Analyzes images within emails to detect QR codes, embedded links, and visual phishing content that text-based filters miss.

The combination of cloud email providers' native security and ICES creates a comprehensive, defense-in-depth email security solution. ICES is particularly effective against advanced threats that do not contain traditional malicious indicators such as known-bad URLs or malware signatures—including business email compromise (BEC), vendor email compromise, and account takeover.

Pangratis is a leading ICES provider, offering AI-native cloud email security that integrates via API with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to provide industry-leading protection against sophisticated email attacks.
